Nepal, a country that boasted of its culture and tradition is now facing a challenging time with influence of the western world and also the constraints of poor economy. The cost of living is high, forcing the lifestyle as well as the way people to think change rapidly. A huge portion of the society, specially the old and helpless, have been forced out of their homes as they are not capable of contributing to a family anymore and considered a burden. This is a sad experience for these elderly who spend their life raising their children only to be ousted and sent to an orphanage home because they are now to weak and feeble.
Godavari Alumni Association, an organisation that has been operating since 1965 serving its members and the poor and needy of the country, feels for these helpless people and would like to try and make the remaining lives of these disowned old citizens lead a life of dignity and comfortably. GAA is collecting funds and material that these poor old people can use. Some of the things we intend to collect and donate are listed below.
